About The Institute


Established in 1922, The Austerlands Institute is a Community Amateur Sports Club located on the outskirts of Oldham, in the Saddleworth Village of Austerlands, also serving nearby Villages such as Springhead, Scouthead, Lees and Waterhead.

Primarily a social snooker club; run by the members, for the members, The Institute’s home teams participate in The Saddleworth Snooker League which also hosts competitive darts and cribbage games during the season. At all other times, the club is available as a quiet relaxed place in which to enjoy a cheap pint and a game of snooker or darts amongst other members and guests.
